Making their debut in 2014, Koenigsegg One:1 introduced their seven examples, which one of the seven was a prototype. All were built from the year 2014 to 2015. With top speed around 273mph, One:1 is definitely Koenigsegg’s most exclusive production car in the car industry.
Andreas Petre, Koenigsegg’s spoke person at the Geneva Motor Show stated a confirmation about the building of six Koenigsegg’s One:1 hypercars. Two of them were bought by a British, and the four sold to China. The Chinese were basically the initiator of the One:1 hypercar concept. Koenigsegg’s distributor in Beijing told Petre that customers wanted to track cars. They wanted Koenigsegg track car, to be exact.
If you are asked, “what is your dream car equation?” You’d probably say the one with the hp-to kg curb ratio of 1:1 since that sounds impossible, it’s okay to your dream, but it is not Koenigsegg’s dream, it is their reality. Koenigsegg successfully brought the dream to life: a legal, usable sports car.
Koenigsegg’s One:1 power off Megawatt, the first homologated production car that does that, making the world’s first mega car. Hence the name One:1. How incredibly witty, smart, and excellent choice of wordplay?
Performance-wise, Koenigsegg One:1 gracefully enhanced track performance while still being top speed and usable daily. Their visually appealing appearance adds the perfect touch to the car. Green-tech wise, as the release of the biofuel CCXR in 2007, Koenigsegg became the first manufacturer taking a step toward green-tech. The One:1 run on either normal gasoline, race fuel, and or the E85 biofuel.
Known as high weighted production cars, Christian’s Koenigsegg, the company boss revealed that they had to cut the car’s weight and increase One:1 in power. Add to the car air conditioning, ESP, ABS, central locking, stereo, and everything else to remain street legal.
Other features include 1 MW at 7500 rpm – rpm limiter at 8250 rpm power output, over 1000 Nm from 3000 to 8000 rom torque, 1371 Nm at 6000 rpm max torque, 0 – 400 km per hour approximately 20 sec., 400 – 0 km per hour approximately 10 sec., 28 m braking distance, 2.0 g max lateral g-force, and euro VI emission level. Is it sounds like the perfect street-legal production car?
One:1’s top speed is safe to say at 273mph, able to go from 0 to 100 km per hour in just 2.8 sec., and from 0 to 300 km per hour in around 12 sec., also from 0 to 400 km per hour in 20 sec. The One:1 did not initially set out to be produced as a top speed, making the 273mph a surprise.
To do a speed run is something Koenigsegg One:1 would like to do but is not a priority on their list. They value track time more; the infamous Nurburgring to them is the circuit where the lap times are chased and counts. Top speed, Koenigsegg claimed that if they were granted access to NASA landing strip, they’d have a great chance of going as fast as the Venom GT—what a bold statement.
