The next part of our Dodge Journey SRT overview is the performance. How does the Dodge Journey perform? It rides well enough although its base engine as well as transmissions are both outdated. The base engine is a 2.4-liter, inline-four engine capable of delivering 173 horsepower with 166 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
Fortunately, there is a V6 engine available as an option albeit it still performs below average. The V6 engine is much stronger, capable of delivering 283 horsepower with 260 lb-ft of torque and paired with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Although the V6 engine is more powerful, it is still underwhelming for a mid-size SUV.
For a family SUV, the Dodge Journey is enough. Although the engine is not that good, it is more than capable of handling daily tasks. It rides well and has good handling. Other than that, the mid-size SUV has nothing more to offer performance-wise.
Features
In terms of features, the Dodge Journey comes equipped with 17-inch steel wheels, a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, Uconnect infotainment system, keyless entry, push-button start, a height-adjustable driver seat, dual-zone climate control, an audio system with six stereo speakers, and a USB port as standard.
Are there other features? Of course. Other features like a leather-wrapped steering wheel, satellite radio, Bluetooth, a larger touchscreen display, leather upholstery, remote start, heated front seats, and others are available either as optional or on the higher trim levels.
